1. “OK, I’M DONE WITH EVERYTHING I WANTED TO DO TODAY!”

Have you ever been able to say this? There have been days that I got a lot done and felt accomplished. But there’s always something else I didn’t get to or just forgot about. A mom’s work is never done right?

2. I GAVE UP SMELLING MY KID’S CLOTHES, NOW I JUST WASH IT OR FEBREZE IT.

Kids are stinky sometimes right? I am not going to pick up a pair of socks (never again) or underwear on the floor and smell it to see if it’s clean or not. I just throw it in the hamper to get washed. I also just spray febreze on their jackets and coats they wear every day until the next time they get washed.

3. I HAVE HIDDEN SNACKS IN MY ROOM THAT MY KIDS DON’T KNOW ABOUT.

Ok sometimes my kids eat all the snacks up too fast before I can get any. And once in a while, I have my own stash of candy near my bed just for me. I feel a little bad about this but not TOO bad. Plus sometimes they still find my stash a sneak a piece or two or three.

4. MY KIDS ARE FINALLY AT THAT AGE WHERE I CAN GO TO SLEEP BEFORE THEM.

This might be the most exciting thing about having older kids, besides them being able to make their own breakfast when they get up too early. If I’m super tired or feeling sick I can just say, “Ok guys I’m going to bed.” Then they can stay up and finish watching a movie or playing their game.

5. I DRIVE LIKE A CRAZY PERSON TO GET MY KIDS TO SCHOOL ON TIME

This is mostly my fault because we are not always organized. Ok, were hardly ever organized and end up leaving out too late in the morning. So I end up driving like a crazy person (but not too crazy) so the kids are not late for school and I’m not late for work.

6. A SINK FULL OF DISHES MEANS MY FAMILY IS FED, AND IT LOOKS LIKE MY FAMILY IS FED A LOT!

I’m not the only one with a sink full of dishes every Friday am I? Doing dishes is definitely one of the chores I neglect until the weekend. I mean after you cook dinner who feels like doing the dishes too? I do clean them off a little and let some of them soak…and soak…until Saturday.

7. IT’S OK FOR KIDS TO EAT FROZEN PIZZA SOMETIMES. IF YOU NEED TO REST, THEN PLEASE REST, MAMA.

Seriously, mama. The kids will be just fine eating pizza once in a while. Taking some time to rest when you really need it is important. Plus you can’t be an awesome mama if you’re completely drained right?
