Spooky Meals and Treats for Halloween!

Welcome little ghouls and mummies. Have a seat and see what scary treats were making today!

You can make one or two a day for some special treats before or on Halloween!

1. Googly-eye Muffins

For breakfast we will have googly-eye muffins. Start with your favorite muffins and add white frosting piped into circles & maybe add chocolate chips for eyes. For blueberry muffins, you could use blueberries for the eyes.

No fancy tools needed just spoon some icing into a small plastic bag and snip the end of one corner. Ready to draw eyes and a mouth if you want!

2. Orange Jell-o Jack-o-lanterns

Next, were making mini jack-o lanterns, filled with jiggling…things.

Decorate clear cups while the water boils for the Jell-o, then cut up and mix in your favorite fruit. Sometimes I mix in a couple ice cubes so it will cool faster. Then, pour into the decorated cups and place in fridge.

Use mandarin oranges & strawberries or your favorite fruit & orange Jell-o mixed inside of small clear cups with jack-o lantern faces drawn on them.

3. Poison Apple – Apple Pie

Next comes my favorite, Poison Apple – Apple Pie with a surprise in the middle…it looks innocent enough but just one bite is all it takes!

Basic Recipe:

6 poison apples (ok, yours don’t really have to be poisoned)

Cinnamon, brown sugar, butter

2 pie crusts (one for the top and one for the bottom)

1/2 cup of strawberry pie filling (add sliced strawberries if you want)

4. Boo-Berry Punch

Now it’s time for my one and only Boo-berry punch. Just watch out for the worms! This is fun to make.

What you need:
Fruit drink or punch, gummy worms and more punch to make colored ice cubes

1 bag of wiggling worms (you can use sour gummy worms)

Pour lemonade or another colored drink into an ice cube tray. Put gummy worms inside the ice tray with a little hanging out. Freeze. Pick your favorite fruit drink, punch or lemonade and pour into a punch bowl or clear pitcher. Just for fun you could make it a different color than the ice cubes.

5. Spooky Stew

Then we have a pot of spooky stew, perfect for a chilly Halloween night. See what you can in there. Look closely…but not too close or…Boo!

I start with beef broth and the long stir fry beef that looks like fingers… you can use chicken or turkey and chicken broth, or no meat at all!

Do you have a favorite veggie? Mine is corn. Well, I like carrots too, and celery is good in soup and stew, oh and peas and I can’t forget potatoes. They are a vegetable right? Last I add some stewed tomatoes and we have all colors covered, yellow, orange, green and red. Sometimes I add macaroni noodles and sometimes I add rice.

Let everything cook and mix together for a few hours, then serve with your choice of bread.

6. Sticky Fingers

Sticky fingers are next on the menu. Dipped in bright red…sauce?? These would be tasty served with my monster mashed potatoes. Ready to make them? Watch very closely…

First, chicken tenders are cut in half after cooking and mixed in a bowl with the red sauce. then, comes the sauce. You can mix ketchup with sweet & sour sauce to make it bright red!

7. Monster Mashed Potatoes

First, make the mashed potatoes and the broccoli. Cook the broccoli until soft enough to mix into mashed potatoes to make them green. Then, you can add salt, pepper, cheese and/or butter to taste.

8. Witches Brew Cookie Bars

Last but not least my specialty…witches brew cookie bars.

This is a fun recipe using your favorite cookie dough, then layer or mix in your favorite candies. You could also mix in any flavor chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, marshmallows, even candy corn! Then bake, but not too long I like my cookies soft!

Thanks for visiting our creepy kitchen…don’t be scared to visit again!
